These terms cover the screenrecordwindows.com screen recorder for Windows (“the app”) and the website at screenrecordwindows.com(“the site”), provided by screenrecordwindows.com (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
1. Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on computers you own or control, for personal or commercial work.
- Free: all features, with a small screenrecordwindows.com watermark on exported videos.
- Pro: the same app without the watermark, activated with a licence key. A licence is for one person and may not be shared or resold.
The app is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly given here.
2. What you may not do
- Copy, sell, rent or distribute the app, or a modified version of it.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law allows this despite these terms.
- Remove or hide the watermark on free exports by any means other than buying Pro.
- Use the app to break the law or anyone’s rights.
3. Your recordings are yours
You own what you record and make with the app. We claim no rights over it, and we only receive a video if you share it as a link. You are responsible for what you record and share: get permission before recording other people, private conversations, or material you don’t have the rights to, and check exports before you publish them. Automatic privacy blur helps, but it can miss things, and the responsibility for what you publish stays with you.
4. Share links
The app can upload a video you choose and give you a link to it. Only share videos you have the right to share, and never anything illegal, hateful, sexual, violent or that invades someone’s privacy. Anyone with the link can watch the video. Shared videos are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete them sooner. We may limit how much you share, remove a video that’s reported or breaks these terms, or switch the service off. We don’t promise that it will always be available.
5. Device images and trademarks
The 3D devices are illustrations to present your recordings. MacBook and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc. Windows is a trademark of the Microsoft group of companies. screenrecordwindows.com isn’t affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Apple or Microsoft.
6. Buying Pro
Prices are shown on the site, including any tax we’re required to show. Payment is taken by our payment provider when you buy. If something isn’t right with your purchase, email hello@screenrecordwindows.com within 14 days and we’ll make it right, including a refund where the law entitles you to one.
7. Updates
We may release updates that add, change or remove features. We aim to keep the app working well on supported versions of Windows, but we can’t promise it will work with every system or every future version of Windows.
8. No warranty
The app and the site are provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including that the app will be error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. Keep backups of recordings that matter to you.
9. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously break these terms, your licence ends and you must stop using the app.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on the site before it takes effect; using the app after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
